Maryam Mohammadi ist freischaffende Fotokünstlerin mit Schwerpunkt „Staged-Photography“ und Kuratorin. In vielen Fotoarbeiten bezieht sie sich auf Frauen in verschiedenen kulturellen und gesellschaftlichen Kontexten und setzt sich dabei immer wieder selbst in Bild.

Aufgewachsen in Teheran, lebt sie seit 2009 in Graz, wo sie für den Verein XENOS tätig ist. Im Jahr 2017 schloss sie ihr Studium an der UJEP-Universität (CZ) mit einer Doktorarbeit zur Funktion des fotografischen Selbstportraits für das Empowerment von Frauen ab. Sie nahm an zahlreichen Kunstausstellungen und Projekten in verschiedenen Ländern teil und erhielt bereits einige Auszeichnungen, u.a. 2013 den Kunstförderungspreis der Stadt Graz.

Sie war die erste sechsmonatige Artist-in-Europe-Stipendiatin des Landes Steiermark mit einem Atelier im WIELS, einem der renommiertesten Zentren für zeitgenössische Kunst in Europa.

Maryam Mohammadi is a freelance photo artist with a focus on staged photography and a curator. Many of her photographic works relate to women in various cultural and social contexts and she often puts herself in the picture.

Raised in Tehran, she has lived in Graz since 2009, where she works for the XENOS association. In 2017, she completed a PhD at UJEP University (CZ) with a doctoral thesis on the function of the photographic self-portrait for the empowerment of women. She has taken part in many art exhibitions and projects in various countries and has received several awards, including the Art Promotion Award of the City of Graz in 2013.

She was the first six-month Artist-in-Europe scholarship holder of the province of Styria with a studio at WIELS, one of the most acclaimed centres for contemporary art in Europe.

Anke Strittmatter ist Architektin und Urbanistin. Seit 2008 lehrt sie Urban Design, Ausstellungsdesign und Informationsdesign an der Fachhochschule FH JOANNEUM in Graz. Als Projektleiterin von Kultur- und Forschungsprojekten wie beispielsweise Human Cities_Challenging the City Scale, SMOTIES oder INTERFACE NACHBAR (Kulturjahr 2020) liegt ihr Forschungsinteresse im Bereich Urban Design. 1997 gründete sie ihr eigenes Atelier und wurde 2003 Mitglied der Architektengruppe osa – office for subversive architecture, deren Projektschwerpunkt auf Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum liegt (www.osa-online.net).

Von 2008 bis 2010 war sie Geschäftsführerin des Haus der Architektur in Graz. Ihre umfangreiche Lehrerfahrung umfasst Tätigkeiten als Dozentin für Städtebau am Fachbereich Architektur, Technische Universität Graz; an der Fachgruppe Stadt, Technische Universität Darmstadt (Deutschland); am Fachbereich Architektur der Universität Trisakti, Jakarta (Indonesien) und am Politecnico di Milano (Italien).

Zu ihren jüngsten Ausstellungen und Projekten im öffentlichen Raum als Künstlerin und Kuratorin zählen Stories from the Edge (MLZ Art Dep Trieste, Galerie Kortilj und Kunsthaus Graz 2016), Geschichten-KÜCHE: (rotor/steirischerherbst 2016), Cafe Samowar (2017), Rendezvous im Bad (Schaumbad 2018), Momente der Veränderung (Graz 2018), Talking (about) Images (Trieste, Rijeka und Ljubljana 2019), Sternbildgrenzen (Steiermärkische Landesbibliothek 2019) und Active Urban Citizenship (Graz Kulturjahr 2020).

Musik

Avanaz Hassani geboren 1993 in Teheran, Iran, studierte Instrumentalpädagogik Violine in Graz und absolviert den Bachelor Musik- und Bewegungspädagogik/ Rhythmik mit Schwerpunkt Rhythmik in der Inklusions- und Heilpädagogik an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

Sie ist als Rhythmikerin, Musikpädagogin, Performance Künstlerin, Percussionist in Graz und Wien tätig und hat ebenso beruflich einige Erfahrungen im sozialen Bereich.

Music

Avanaz Hassani was born in 1993 in Tehran, Iran. She studied violin instrumental pedagogy in Graz and is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in music and movement pedagogy/rhythmics with a focus on rhythmics in inclusive and curative education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

She works as a rhythmist, music teacher, performance artist and percussionist in Graz and Vienna and also has professional experience in the social sector.
